What I can Do as your Life Coach?

As a Life Coaches I shall Help You Identify Goals

Finding your goals is one of the toughest tasks you face when trying to change and begin something fresh.  A life coach is excellent at assisting you in understanding your visions and thoughts, and arranging them into achievable objectives. They actually help you to link what you’re thinking and what you’re feeling to discover some harmony between the two that leads to your interests.

Discovering, adjusting and managing goals to make them more attainable are what life coaches excel in. You might have a sense of what you desire but struggle to form it into a clear goal that you can pursue. Or you might believe you have a clear goal but then realize that it isn’t quite right for you or is harder to achieve than you expected. This is when a life coach steps in and supports you in reassessing those thoughts and objectives to transform them into smart goals that promote real changes in your life and progress.

I can Help You Achieve Your Goals

A life coach assists you in reaching your objectives, making positive changes, and pursuing your dreams. A coach guides you from your current situation to where you wish to be. In simpler terms, their role is to help you move from Point A to Point B in your life, however that may look for you.

Your coach is someone who encourages you, inspires you, and keeps you responsible for realizing your vision. No matter what you want in life, they will support you in reaching that destination.

I can Guide You Through Changes and Obstacles

A life coach aids you in advancing your life and discovering purpose, satisfaction, achievement, wellness, and joy. They can help you recognize the barriers or challenges that are causing you to feel “stuck” and assist you in overcoming them.

They may also guide you during a life change, such as seeking a new job or starting a new relationship. You might refer to them as a change facilitator or a courage catalyst.

I can help You to Follow Your Dreams

You might be looking for approval or reassurance before you feel ready to take that significant first step towards achieving your dreams or fulfilling your goals. While input from family and friends can be useful, it is not professional and often lacks objectivity. A life coach is someone who is outside your personal life and can genuinely evaluate your ideas and objectives without bias, making them more equipped to provide the validation you need to start your journey.

I Can Assist You in Making the Best Choices for Yourself

When you reach out to a life coach, it generally indicates that you need support with decision-making. The choice could relate to which goal to focus on, what action to take first, or figuring out if that goal is worth pursuing at all.

One of the great benefits of life coaches is that they provide you with strategies and approaches that enable you to make beneficial decisions for yourself and your future. They guide you through these steps concerning whatever you are aiming for, and over time, you will begin to cultivate the problem-solving mindset they are helping you to develop. This way of thinking will gradually influence your daily life and transform how you make choices every day since it simply feels right.

What I Cannot Do for You

Coaches typically do not offer advice or dictate your actions. They aim to assist you in discovering what feels appropriate for you by guiding you to uncover the answers yourself through conversations, suggestions, brainstorming, and contemplation.

Among other things, you should not expect a life coach to act as a consultant, sports coach, or close friend. While life coaches are individuals you can discuss strategies and goals with, they are specialists in life, not specific areas like business consulting or sports training. They may have expertise in certain fields that enhance your performance in those areas, but they focus on helping you achieve your objectives instead of providing data on expanding your business or informing you how often to eat to achieve your weight goals.

Life coaches may sometimes feel like friends because they are motivating, uplifting, and genuinely dedicated to helping you achieve your aspirations, but this does not make them a friend nor replace the value of having friends. Your life coach might be strict and challenging at times because the relationship is centered on goals, and your success reflects their success.

I Am Not a Therapist

It is natural for you to wonder what sets a life coach apart from a therapist, but there are several important differences between the two. Primarily, life coaches do not address issues such as depression, anxiety, or mental health disorders. It is crucial to understand that when you engage in life coaching, you are not receiving therapy.

Future vs. Past

A life coach primarily concentrates on your future rather than primarily addressing your past.

While they may provide suggestions, new concepts, or action steps, they do not offer advice. Instead, they attentively listen to you and pose the right questions to assist you in discovering your path, your truth, and your solutions. Then, they help you align your life with your identity and your desires.

If you enter a life coaching meeting without having worked on or at least begun to address a past concern, it is probable that the life coach will suggest you see a therapist or encourage you to further explore this concern. Life coaches can assist you with mental barriers, but many past matters are outside their level of expertise.

Solution Focused vs. Problem Focused

Another important distinction between life coaches and therapists is their emphasis. A therapist usually concentrates more on a specific issue you are facing and how you ended up there. This is why many individuals seek therapy: to address a problem or navigate an issue.

Conversely, a life coach is going to concentrate more on solutions that move you from point A to point B. You should enroll in life coaching if you want to discover how to achieve your desired position in life. Although your coach will support you in handling challenges that arise, the main emphasis of the coaching sessions will be on finding new methods of acting and thinking that will assist you in reaching your aim.

Indeed, the success of solution-focused methods in achieving goals has been shown to bring you closer to those objectives more quickly.
